Homo sapiens (Jebel Irhoud). Illustration and reconstruction of a prehistoric human, based on the Irhoud fossils. These are specimens of early Homo sapiens. They date to over 300,000 years old, the oldest known fossils of anatomically modern Homo sapiens. A number of these fossils have been found since 1960 at the archaeological site of Jebel Irhoud in Morocco.
