Brick factories located in Munshiganj district neighbouring capital Dhaka is seen submerged because of flood caused by onrush of water from upstream and heavy rains in July and early August 2016.Tens of thousands of people in Bangladesh have either been marooned or displaced because of monsoon floods that left dozens of people dead in the past three weeks.A large part of Bangladesh, like other South Asian countries, was inundated also causing damage to corps cultivated in a vast swath of arable land.Over 1200 schools and colleges in the flood affected areas were declared closed in July (2016). People in those areas were also suffering from water-borne diseases. People in those areas are also facing acute shortage of food and drinking water.
