Beat British record when winning the 120 yards hurdles championship in 14.6 secs for fifth successive year; 1936. Third in Olympic 110 metres final at Los Angeles; 1932; and second in the Berlin Olympiad; 1936. Excelling at hurdling he is also an all-round athlete and was successful in several field events during Air Force championships.
