6th century BC on top of Montecalvario (Calvary); the tumulus with a diameter of 53 m and 4 entrances to four burial tombs was discovered in 16th century and excavated 1902 and 1915. In between; several objects were robbed. Most impressing artefacts found were the rests of an Etruscan cart and the stone head of a female lion; found at entrance of Southern burial tomb. Both objects are now in the Archeological Museum of Chianti Senese area (Museo Archeologico del Chianti Senese) in Castellina in Chianti.
