The algal bloom in Lake Erie (green, bottom centre) was mainly caused by phosphorous runoff from agricultural fertilizer into the lake. Data obtained by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA?檚 Aqua satellite on 8th September 2020.
