Jane Goodall (born 1934) British primatologist. Goodall is considered to be the world's foremost expert on chimpanzees. She is best known for her studies of social and family interactions in wild chimpanzees at Gombe National Park, Tanzania, which began in 1960. She is the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, and has worked extensively on conservation and animal welfare issues. She has served on the board of the Nonhuman Rights Project since it was founded in 1996. Photographed in Madrid, Spain in 2013.
