Cheyne Walk in Chelsea, west London, was named after William Cheyne, Viscount Newhaven who owned the manor of Chelsea until 1712. Most of the buildings date from this period. Notable residents include: Sylvia Pankhurst, Sir Marc Brunel and his son Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Elizabeth Gaskell, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Bertrand Russell, Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithfull.
