The devastating affects of the Easter Rebellion in Ireland in 1916. The main picture shows the burnt-out imperial hotel and post-office on Sackville Street in Dublin. According to The Graphic, the damage to property was estimated at ?2,000,000 and 179 building were destroyed by flame and shell. The area that suffered the most was Lower Sackville Street which was the rebels' central stronghold and was entirely burnt out.
