Almina Herbert, Countess of Carnarvon (15 August 1876 ? 8 May 1969), English aristocrat, wife of George Herbert, 5th Earl of Carnarvon, and ch?telaine of Highclere Castle, Newbury. Pictured reading to a wounded officer at Highclere, where a large portion of the house had been turned into hospital for the wounded. Lady Carnarvon was the daughter of Mr Frederick Charles Wombwell (though her natural father was the millionaire banker, Leopold de Rothschild) and married the earl in 1895.
