Photograph of Frank Foster, the Warwickshire and England cricketer, demonstrating his left-arm fast-medium bowling action, c.1910. Foster was the first bowler to systematically exploit leg theory (between 1908-1914). This approach later came to be known as 'bodyline' and, when applied by D.R. Jardine and H. Larwood of England, soured Anglo-Australian sporting relations.
