Copper (II) carbonate precipitate. Sodium carbonate is added to a test tube containing copper (II) sulfate. Both solutions are 0.5 M concentration. Copper (II) carbonate precipitate is formed as a result: CuSO4 + Na2CO3 -> CuCO3 + Na2SO4. This is an example of a double displacement reaction.
