The aurora on the night of February 20, 2015 from Churchill Manitoba from the Churchill Northern Studies Centre. his is looking north toward a curtain with pink upper colouration from low-energy electrons exciting oxygen in the high atmosphere. The temperature was -32 C with a windchill of -50 or so. The aurora brightened about 9:30 pm local time for a while then faded into dim arcs and patchiness by 11 pm. Everyone had a good time shooting selfies with the aurora as a background. I shot with the Canon 6D and 24mm lens, at exposures from 8 to 15 seconds at f/2.8 and ISO 3200 to 4000.
