Aneurysm in neck artery. 3D computed tomography (CT) scan and angiogram of an aneurysm in a neck artery (orange swelling) in a 28-year-old man who has had a meningeal brain haemorrhage. This is a left sagittal view of the right internal carotid artery, with the aneurysm (centre) extending to the cerebral and middle cerebral arteries. An aneurysm is a weakening of the walls of a blood vessel, resulting in it swelling as seen here. Surgical intervention is needed to repair the aneurysm as a rupture is usually fatal.
