Ceres. Satellite image of the minor planet Ceres taken from an altitude of 4,400 km. Ceres is the largest object in the asteroid belt, which lies between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Here, an intriguing mountain (bottom centre) can be seen protruding from a relatively smooth area on the surface. This structure is estimate to rise around 5 kilometres above the surface. Imaged by NASA's Dawn space probe on 14th June 2015.
