Yeast fermentation experiment. Fermenting yeast in a flask, being used to show how fermentation produces carbon dioxide (CO2). As the CO2 is produced it passes along the glass tube (top) and into a test tube of limewater (calcium hydroxide solution). The limewater turns milky when CO2 is passed through it as a suspension of calcium carbonate is produced.
