Petrol-powered electric lights. 19th-century artwork of an installation of portable electric lighting powered by a Grob petrol engine. The labels on the wagon indicate that the engine manufacturer is J. M. Grob and Company from Leipzig-Eutritzsch, Germany. This technology was developed towards the end of the 19th century. Artwork from the first volume (1897) of 'La Revue Scientifique et Industrielle' by French chemist and inventor Jules-Louis Breton (1872-1940).
