Numerous cells, some with visible nuclei, are seen here. The adrenal glands are found on the kidneys, hence the name of suprarenal. The adrenal glands secrete hormones to control body metabolism, the most important being adrenaline. Surgical removal of the adrenal gland may be required, followed by hormone replacement drugs.
