MODEL RELEASED. First heart transplant removal patient. Hannah Clark was the first patient ever to have their transplanted heart removed. The transplant was originally grafted onto her own, damaged heart when she was 11 months old (in 1995). However, she developed complications due to the immunosupressants used to prevent the heart being rejected. Ultimately it was decided to remove the donor heart after her own heart had recovered some 10 years later (in 2006). The surgery was performed by heart surgeons Victor Tsang and Sir Magdi Yacoub.
