Dicranurus monstrosus trilobite fossil. Trilobites are a group of extinct marine arthropod that fed as they crawled on the seabed. They lived between 500 and 300 million years ago. Dicranurus monstrosus lived in a shallow sea that corresponds to modern-day Oklahoma, New York and Morocco. They were equipped with a defensive array of spines, including occipital spines that resembled rams horns. This fossil dates to the Upper Ordovician-Silurian age, 420 to 360 million years ago. Found in Morocco.
