Shieldbug (Graphosoma lineatum), a member of the Pentatomidae family. This common species of shieldbug is found throughout Europe and parts of North Africa but not in the UK. It is identifiable by its black stripes on a red background indicating it is foul tasting to any potential predators. Photographed in the Vendee, France, in August.
