Light micrograph of neurosecretion in the posterior pituitary gland, stained with the paraldehyde-thionine method. The neurosecretory material is distributed throughout the posterior lobe showing a clear tendency to accumulate in the vicinity of the blood vessels. Some Herring bodies, not very abundant, are observed. The orange-stained structures are blood vessels filled with red blood cells.
