Xiangqi (Chinese: ??; p Xi鄋gq?; also called Chinese chess; is a strategy board game for two players. It is one of the most popular board games in China; and is in the same family as Western (or international) chess; chaturanga; shogi; Indian chess and janggi. Besides China and areas with significant ethnic Chinese communities; xiangqi (c? tu?ng) is also a popular pastime in Vietnam.

Memorial House is set in a restored tube house which was formerly the home of an affluent Chinese family. The house was beautifully restored in 1999 and now provides an excellent idea of how well-to-do merchants lived and traded in the Old City a hundred years ago. Pictures From Asia David Henley
