Leaving his London, home on the way today is the man whose signature will soon be on every new bank note, Mr L. K. O'Brien. He is succeeding Mr P.S Beale as Chief Cashier of the bank of England from January 16, 1955. Mr O'Brien who is 46 joined the Bank in 1927 and became Deputy Chief Cashier in 1951. He has had extensive experience of exchange control as well as of home finance. 10 Decenver 1954.
