Reindeer by a fence in Swedish Lapland. Reindeer are a central part of the life of the Sami, the indigenous people of Lapland, an area that extends across northern Scandinavia and north-western Russia. Reindeer are herded and bred for their meat, hide and milk, and are also used for transport. Photographed in January at the Sami Siida camp, Jukkasjarvi, Norbotten County, Sweden.
