Black-legged kittiwakes (Rissa tridactyla) on ice. This small gull is found in the Arctic, North Atlantic and North Pacific oceans. It lives on the open sea much of the year, only coming ashore to breed. Photographed in July in Norway's Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic.
