Early flying machine. The landing is brought about by raising the apparatus in front somewhat, and by lessening the speed. Shows the manner of changing the centre of gravity, and particularly the position of the legs to the left, in order to press down the left wing. From the article Progress in Aerial Navigation by Octave Chanute in The Engineering Magazine Volume XI, October 1896.
