The Secretary Bird (Sagittarius Serpentarius) is a very large mostly terrestrial bird of prey. Endemic to Africa it is usually found in the open grasslands and savannah of the sub-saharan region. Its name is said to have originated in Egyptian times and was inspired by the resemblence with a secretary who was in the habit of carrying writing feathers in his hair.
