Coloured normal appendicography. Appendicography is a contrast diagnostic procedure that may be performed in suspected cases of appendicitis. The patient drinks a barium sulphate meal and then undergoes an abdominal X-ray 8 hours later. Here the barium contrast material (dark brown) is filling the caecum, ascending colon and appendix.
