Lieutenant General Claire Chennault (1893-1958) was Commander of the Flying Tigers in China during World War II.

Owen Lattimore (July 29, 1900 ??May 31, 1989) was an American author, educator, and influential scholar of Central Asia, especially Mongolia. In the 1930s, he was editor of Pacific Affairs, a journal published by the Institute of Pacific Relations, and then taught at Johns Hopkins University from 1938 to 1963. During World War II, he was a senior American advisor to Chiang Kai-shek.

Chiang Kai-shek (October 31, 1887 ??April 5, 1975) was a political and military leader of 20th century China (c.1927-49) and subsequently of Taiwan.
