The Gairia Volcano is at the foot of the town of Tiscamanita (famous for its tasty tomato plantations that can be purchased in any of the small shops that are on the main street of the town), and is 10 kilometers from Antigua and 4 of Tuineje, on the FV-20 road, which connects the capital with Gran Tarajal. From Tiscamanita you can make several hiking tours in the area: from climbing the Caldera de Gairia, to visiting other nearby volcanic buildings: Caldera de la Laguna, Caldera de los Arrabales, Caldera de la Laguna, Caldera de Liria, another protected area that borders on this: the Malpas Grande. In the area you can also find camels grazing freely and the typical flocks of goats from Fuerteventura, symbol of the island, Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain
