Cyanobacterial circadian clock protein, molecular model. This protein is a kinase known as KaiC. Its structure is a hexamer. It interacts with two other proteins (KaiA and KaiB) to regulate the circadian clock of the Synechococcus elongatus cyanobacterium. This clock acts over a 22-hour cycle. It is the simplest known circadian clock.
