James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) image of the Crab Nebula. This nebula is the remnant of a supernova recorded in 1054 CE. It is located 6,500 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Taurus. Its components include sulphur doubly ionised by stellar radiation (green), warm dust (magenta), and synchrotron emission (blue) which is a type of radiation emitted by certain charged particles. Yellow-white areas within the nebula are areas in which dust and sulphur coincide. Image captured by JWST's Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam) and Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI).
