Wound on a patient's scalp after the removal of a nodular melanoma. Melanoma is a malignant (cancerous) tumour of melanocyte skin cells. Nodular melanoma (NM) is the most aggressive form and tends to grow more rapidly in thickness (penetrating the skin) than in diameter. Melanoma is less common than other skin cancers. However, it is much more dangerous if not found early.
