Lord Glanely is a Director of the Chepstow Race Course Co; and a member of the Jockey Club. His most successful season as an owner was in 1930 when he won 39 races with 24 horses - stakes valued £40;273. In 1933 he won 28 races with 16 horses. Lord Glanely has given some of the highest prices in racing history for yearlings. In 1935 he paid over £30;000 for such horses at public auctions; 8;000 guineas being given for Inglefield which was bred by Lady James Douglas.
