Peruckenmacher. Seit Ende des 17 Jahrh bildete sich die Zunft der Peruckenmacher zum wichtigen Gewerbe aus. Es beginnt die Zeit der grossen Allongeperucke; der andere Peruckenformen folgen. Die Perucke war keineswegs neu (schon den alten Agyptern bekannt); aber erst im Barock und Rokoko wird sie mit der ubrigen kunstlichen Mode zum vollendeten Ausdruck fur die Naturferne jener Zeit. Translation: Wigs Maker. From the end of the 17th century; the guild of wig makers developed into an important trade. The time of the big long wigs begins; which is followed by other wig shapes. The wig was by no means new (already known to the ancient Egyptians); but only in the Baroque and Rococo periods did it; together with the rest of the artistic fashion; become the perfect expression of the remoteness from nature of that time.
