Prehistoric rock paintings in Chiribiquete Natural Park, Colombia. This park contains over 75,000 of these painted figures on the walls of 60 rock shelters that have been created by indigenous people from as long ago as 20,000 BCE. These paintings typically depict hunting scenes, battles, dances and ceremonies, as well as various flora and fauna species. They particularly emphasize the worship of the jaguar, a symbol of power and fertility. Paintings in this style are still created here today by uncontacted indigenous peoples. In 2018, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) declared Chiribiquete National Natural Park as a World Heritage Site.
