Conquest of the Sea-Land by the Kassites. The people living in the Sea-Land; the swampy district at the head of the Persian Gulf; had given trouble to the kings of the First Dynasty; and they retained their independence after the Kassites had conquered Babylon. Their last king; Ea-gamil; fired with ambition; invaded Elam; but he was signally defeated; and soon afterwards the Kassites of Babylon; under Agum; occupied the country.
