Patient self-administering evolocumab injection drug. Evolocumab sold under the brand name Repatha, is used to treat high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. It works by binding to and blocking an enzyme in the body called PCSK9, which breaks down receptors in the liver that help remove bad cholesterol (LDL-C) from the blood. This medication is administered as an injection under the skin (subcutaneous).
