Wandsworth High Street, Wandsworth, Wandsworth, Greater London Authority, 1890-1910. Crowds gathered to watch a Sunday School procession on Wandsworth High Street, close to the junctions of Ram Street, Garratt Lane and Buckhold Road. In this scene the photographer is looking south west from Wandsworth High Street with the Spread Eagle Hotel just out of view to the left. The curved building in the centre of the shot is 75 Wandsworth High Street, located at the corner of Garratt Lane. Straight ahead is the former route of Buckhold Road, since diverted to make way for the Southside Shopping Centre. To the right is Freeman Hardy & Willis who opened their first shoe shop in Wandsworth in 1877.
