San Francisco, California November 27, 1933 Governor James Rolph, Jr., of California praised the action of the mob which lynched Thomas Thurmond and John Holmes, confessed kidnap-slayers of Brooke Hart. He declared, No kidnapers will ever be turned loose or pardoned while I am Governor. Rolph added that he would like to release all San Quentin and Folsom inmates convicted of kidnaping into the custody of those fine, patriotic San Jose citizens who know how to handle such a situation.
