Fibroadenoma intracanalicular, light micrograph. Fibroadenomas are benign (non-cancerous) breast tumours characterised by an admixture of stromal and epithelial tissue. The intracanalicular pattern is characterised by dense stromal fibrosis, causing distortion and compression of the ducts. These compressed ducts show a linear branching pattern with slit-like lumens.
