Actinolite is an amphibole silicate mineral. It is chemically defined as a hydrated calcium silicate [Ca2Si8O22(OH)2] . It is typically light to dark green and well-developed crystals form long, fibrous, often radial crystals in low to medium grade metamorphic rocks. Sample is from outcrops in the Vizze Valley, Trentino-Alto Adige, Northern Italy. Actual height is 90 mm.
