Pirot pond overflows its banks in winter, For?t de Troncais, Allier, France. Its 78-hectare surface area makes it the largest of the forests ponds, with a magnificent setting at its heart. Built on the Marmande stream between 1842 and 1852 to supply water for the Berry canal, it is now a recreational and tourist attraction. Hiking, fishing and swimming are the main activities on offer. The Troncais forest is considered one of the most beautiful oak forests in Europe. It was awarded the For?t dException label in 2018. This label is a guarantee of excellence.
