Remarkable Stebbing II oak in the Troncais forest in autumn - Allier. The Stebbing I oak was christened in 1951, but fell in a storm a few years later. Considered the most beautiful tree in the forest, it is one of the most visited. To prevent the repeated trampling of visitors, which contributes to soil compaction and suffocates the small surface roots, then exposes the root system, the Stebbing II oak is one of the trees that benefited in 2020 from a protective belt, a kind of casket specially designed to enhance its value. Circumference: 5.90 m; height: 36 m; age: approx. 390 years. The Troncais forest is considered one of the finest oak forests in Europe. It was awarded the For?t dException label in 2018. This label is a guarantee of excellence - Allier - France
