Scientists observing tobacco hawk moth (Manduca sexta) caterpillars eating tobacco plants (Nicotiana sp.). This species, in caterpillar form, is a significant pest of tobacco crops in the USA as they aggressively eat the leaves. As adults, however, the moths can act as pollinators. Filmed at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology, Germany.
