The vast oval structure of the Exhibition Palace, and the mimic temples, the elegant pavilions, the cottages orn?es, the villas, the chalets, the mosques, the "okels," the kiosks, the "isbahs," the engine-houses, the light-houses, the stables, the conservatories, the fountains, bridges, and triumphal arches, in the surrounding park, are now reduced to a few fragments of ruined magnificence. These are rapidly disappearing, and will soon be cleared away from the Champ de Mars, leaving its broad expanse available for military exercise and parade. The idle world has enjoyed its holiday, and the industrial world has completed its studies on this memorable plot of ground, which during so many months of last year engaged the attention of Europe. The Exposition Universelle of 1867 was a worlds fair held in Paris from 1 April to 3 November 1867. A number of nations were represented at the fair.
