Papules on the abdomen of a 5 year old Hispanic boy due to lichen nitidus. These papules have occurred at the site of injury to the skin, this occurrence is known as the Koebner phenomenon. Lichen nitidus is a chronic inflammatory disease of unknown cause characterised by shiny flat-topped uniform pale papules. The disease usually affects children and young adults and is painless although sometimes itchy.
