Eosinophilic folliculitis lesion on the leg of a male patient who is HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) positive. Eosinophilic folliculitis is a rare condition where eosinophils, a type of white blood cell that have an inflammatory role in immune reactions, infiltrate hair follicles causing itchy pustular lesions. It is most common in patients with advanced HIV infections. The cause is not known. Treatment is with retroviral drugs to control the HIV infection.
