Undergrowth in a Taxodium swamp, characterised by the bracts of white (Lysichiton camtschatcensis) and yellow (Lysichiton americanus) skunk cabbage. The yellow marsh marigold (Caltha palustris) across centre is not indigenous to the Taxodium swamp. Some lower stems of the swamp cypress (Taxodium distichum), which these swamps are named after, can also be seen.
