Light micrograph of a fibrosarcoma, a malignant (cancerous) mesenchymal tumour derived from fibrous connective tissue. The tumour cells are closely packed and arranged in short fascicles which split and merge. There is mitosis, a low grade of nuclear atypia and a diffuse infiltrate of neutrophil leukocytes.
